GMC used cars like the Jimmy were a huge hit in the SUV market for over 20 years until its demise in 2005. The General Motors Corporation had a strangle hold on the small compact SUV market and basically controlled it until the end of this particular segment of the automobile market place. These were a very simple and cheap SUV to build for General Motors and therefore a very profitable automobile line for the big motor company.
