Chipmakers seen maxing out (Investor's Business Daily)

Investor's Business Daily - Wafer capacity is seen reaching a new high in Q4 due in part to optimism on PCs and non-Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL - News) tablets, creating risk of excess chip supply in the latter half of 2011 and into 2012, according to a Goldman Sachs analyst who said semiconductor and chip equipment stocks could face "significant downside" over the next year. Xilinx (NASDAQ:XLNX - News), Micron (NASDAQ:MU - News) and Advanced Micro Devices are seen having the most downside risk. Those shares fell 0.4%, 3.8% and 2.9%, respectively. No. 1 chipmaker Intel (NASDAQ:INTC - News) fell 1.9%.
